Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised in an ethnically diverse family. She is English but her father was Nigerian. She grew on an estate in South London community estate, and at the age of fourteen, she attended The Brit School. She was a student of acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. She performed in various stages during her high school days, including the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe's acting career started with Storm Damage. Over the past few years she has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe's first film appearance was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), with Colin Farrell. After the film's success, Madekwe was cast as Elisha on her role on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and appeared in six episodes Trexx and Flipside. She played Bambi as Bambi in the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe starred in the 2008 comedy feature film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. Her credits in theatre comprise Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe made her US debut on the Drama series The Beautiful Life, which was only broadcast for The CW before being cancelled. The actress was selected in February 2011, as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. After being a regular for the initial two seasons the show was announced late May 2013 that she would leave the show after an appearance as a guest in the premiere episode from the 3rd season. She starred as Tituba in the TV show Salem between 2014 and the year 2016. Madekwe and her partner who has been with her for a long time, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. Both of them have been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They have also appeared together in Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. Her parents, Roy and Patty, as well as her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram and Bram, were present. Ashley lived in stadiums or baseball fields because the four brothers who were athletic played hockey and baseball and both in the summer and winter. Ashley was never able to walk but she was able to dance. As she was two and a half, she took up Baby Ballet and fell in with. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing shortly after she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley continued to perform competitively through high school graduation, in top divisions such as ballet, tap, Jazz Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and more. Additionally, she was awarded best soloist awards at all important dance competitions like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
