
Allison Brooks Janney, born on the 19th November in 1959, in America is an American actor. Through a long career that spans more than three decades, she has become known for her performances across various genres of screen as well as on stage. Janney has received various accolades such as an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award and an Golden Globe Award, and seven Primetime Emmy Awards, in addition to nominations to win two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston but was raised within Dayton (Ohio). She got a grant to studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after graduating from Kenyon College. After years of minor and insignificant appearances on TV and films Her breakthrough came when she played her role as C. J. Cregg in the NBC political drama The West Wing (1999-2006), for which she received four Primetime Emmy Awards. The show won her the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for the Best Guest Actress in for a Drama Series for her performance in Margaret Scully's character on Masters of Sex.
